What happened? The first few days after stroke

People describe their experiences of having a stroke or TIA including initial symptoms, seeking help and the ‘medical’ processes of making a diagnosis. They also talk about what initially happened either in hospital or at home.

People talk about their thoughts about the cause and risk factors of stroke or TIA. They also describe their experiences of things to help reduce the risk of another stroke including medication, surgery and lifestyle changes.

What happened for my disability? Rehabilitation and care

People talk about recovery after the stroke including rehabilitation at hospital or home. This included physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy.

Life after stroke. What is the long-term like?

People describe the impact of stroke on their life including home, work, leisure and finances. They also talk about their experiences of other support services including stroke nurses, social work, home helps and home nursing.
