Stroke Stories

Understanding the stroke experience

Sharing Stories

There would be very little point in capturing stories, either in traditional narrative or digital format, if plans were not first put in place to support their sharing and use.

This website represents one important use of the stories. It was jointly launched in October 2007 at an event in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, along with the DIPeX: Living with Stroke selection of patient experiences.

This was a terrific event and we were delighted to be joined by our digital storytellers; the members of the Lanarkshire MCN Patient Group.

However, it’s recognised that it's not enough simply to put stories online and hope that people will access them. Instead, we need to try to create effective settings for their use.

This section describes:

A story has a beginning and an end...finding an ending brings closure - and insight. This makes it possible to continue moving forward, continuing on the journey of life.
